Impressive at the start of his two year old career FREDERICK ENGELS won three of his seven starts, including the TNT July Stakes (Group 2) at Newmarket finishing a length ahead of the chasing field. He continued to run in Group company and went on to compete in two Group 1 races at the end of the season in France and Ireland. The two year olds obvious potential didn't go unnoticed, shortly after he was purchased by Alastair Donald, of SackvilleDonald, to join John Moore's Hong Kong stable.

FREDERICK ENGELS entered the three week quarantine on the 30th September 2011 and was exported to Hong Kong on the 21st October 2011 by BBA Shipping & Transport Ltd.

Unraced as a three year old he made his comeback to the 2013 season on Saturday 26th January 2013 in the Kent & Curwen Centenary Sprint Cup (Group 1). The four year old was drawn wide in Stall 11 but used this to his advantage, putting in a gutsy performance to finish one and a half lengths behind the Australian bred EAGLE REGIMENT who adds another Group 1 to his roster. There were more top class performers behind him including the Irish bred five time Group winner LUCKY NINE.

FREDERICK ENGELS shows plenty of promise and potential for the coming season and is sure to make his presence known in the sprint races. Yet another exciting horse in John Moore's talented stable. We look forward to watching his progress throughout the season.
